Circus and DC Trip

Nice that I haven't posted anything for about a month but I was actually enjoying the "glad it's finally here" warmer weather with my family!:) One of my clients works for Ringling Bros. and gave us tickets to the Circus----so we took the kids and our seats were right up front! Lil Marshall was so excited to see the elephants and tigers and Savana just got excited anytime the music played. :)
Then, this past week Marshall had some time off from school, so we up and left to DC for a couple of days. It was so fun to just pack up and drive a couple of hours and not have to worry about work, school, cooking dinner or doing laundry. :) This truly is a trip I feel that everyone who has a chance to, should take. We saw the original flag from Fort McHenry that the Star Spangled Banner was written after as well as the original Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. No picture taking was allowed in these sections of course, but we all will remember this experience forever. We toured around the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial and the Smithsonian----all MUST SEES! We couldn't have asked for better weather and even had fun jumping on and off the subway between sites. As much fun as we had though, somehow it always feels good to come home.......(and not look at the pile of laundry, unpacked food and bags that need to be put away) and just sit for a minute and talk about the great things that happened on our trip.....and then draw straws as to who is gonna unpack and clean up!jk There are no straws---just me telling Marsh what to do!:)

We really had such great seats! Just hoping those tigers can't get out of that cage!jk....but seriously These motorcycles were Lil Marsh's favorite And these cute elephants were Savana's favorite....well everyone's actually. :) Union Station....hands down the prettiest train station I've ever seen....well, so far anyway. The one and only "Hope Diamond"...it was really hard to get a good pic since it is so shiny and over 40 carats!!! Yes, Harry Winston is brilliant. This was at the Natural History museum and this cute giraffe pic is for my niece Belle who just loves giraffes!

Marshall loved all of the sea creatures. :) The Marshalls entering the Natural History museum One of my favorite parts was going into the culinary goddess (Julia Child's) kitchen! I love this woman and the movie was not bad either! In every picture she just looks so happy and is having so much fun! Now I love cooking, but I'll be honest that it stresses me out sometimes.....maybe I just need to cook with more butter?:) Snapping a pic with our first president of the United States
Learning about the history of locomotives and why Savana won't look at the camera
Sitting on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial
Restless kids playing on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial
We are actually in the WWII Memorial and I love the Monument in the background
WWII Memorial with all of the countries and states represented that were involved in the war Here is outside Union Station.....our favorite train station---so clean since no smoking, food or beverage is allowed
So this was the closest we could get to the White House but we were pretty sure that the president and his entourage passed us on the way there.....maybe not but it sure was someone important with all of those cars and sirens cruisin' down the street!
Another shot of The "Casa de Blanca" Playin' tag outside the station waiting for our shuttle
Messy face, wet shoes and pants from jumping into puddles, and no nap all day---gotta love this girl!
Our first day there was a little warmer and sunnier but clouds still allow photo ops!:)
And standing in front of the famous "Spirit of St. Louis"!!
